Why do you coach?
Mel started CrossFit in 2015 with CrossFit Somerville. She joined the CrossFit Somerville coaching team in 2016, and then CrossFit One Nation in winter of 2017. Mel Graduated from University Massachusetts, Boston with a B.A. in Political Science and Minor in sociology!
Prior to CrossFit, Mel worked as a bootcamp instructor at a local boutique gym and was a super cardio bunny! She played some sports in high school; baseball and field hockey, but had never been truly athletic. She had always dreamed of being strong but never knew how to make it happen until CrossFit.
In her own words, “I love everything about CrossFit! There’s never a dull moment, and there’s always something new to learn or improve upon. I am also a huge fan of the community aspect.
CrossFit has given me an awesomely strong and functional body (which if I am being honest, is something I’ve never really had before, at least not to the extent of strength and functionality that I have now). I am really excited to continue learning and growing!
As a coach I am super jazzed about sharing what I have learned from CrossFit and helping people get stronger and healthier so they can keep chasing those CrossFit numbers as well as have every advantage outside of the gym.”
