Why do you coach?
After realizing she had been inactive for almost two years Katie decided to try CrossFit in 2014 when ONE Nation first opened. She initially hated it because she felt uncoordinated and not athletic but she loved the community so she decided to stick around. After a month, she was hooked and already seeing positive results in all aspects of her life. Her greatest CrossFit accomplishment to date was her first kipping pull-up…and joining the staff at ONE Nation! Outside of the gym, Katie is a special education teacher. She believes strongly in the connection between physical activity and academic performance. Working with students with a wide range of physical and cognitive needs, Katie’s goal has always been to incorporate movement and physical activity into the school day.
